Ryan Alberts
I was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, on November 3, 2004, and I’m currently studying photography at RIT.
My journey started in high school, where I enrolled in an engineering magnet program, drawn to problem-solving and creativity. Alongside this, I began experimenting with photography using my father’s camera, capturing moments in my neighborhood, on hikes, and at school events.
As I grew, photography became my creative outlet, offering me a way to express myself outside the constraints of engineering. I took photography classes in high school, where I refined my skills and developed a deeper connection with the medium.
By the end of high school, as the demands of engineering studies intensified, photography became a source of comfort and creative freedom. Among the several engineering schools to choose from, I decided to attend RIT to study photography, where I could blend my technical background with my passion for creativity.
